We aim to convey that excitement through delicious food, using traditional Asian styles to deliver a new culinary experience. We think dumplings are the perfect vessel for that delectable exploration. Delicate dough surrounding a heaping mound of savory filling, you can steam, pan-sear or add them into soup for a unique and inspired meal in 5 minutes. Our distinctive flavors make each bite a journey for your taste buds.

Chef One was founded by Chinese Americans in 1999, and currently operates in a former brewery in Bushwick Brooklyn. With the initial focus on the food service sector, our noodles and dumplings are proudly served in some of New York’s finest restaurants. Our newest mission is to introduce more Americans to this amazing food, and we will achieve that by bringing them into all the best grocery stores and markets.

We produce 44,000 dumplings per hour in our Bushwick factory using only fresh ingredients with no artificial flavors. Each dumpling is checked and ensured to taste and look great when it reaches your home. We believe there is a chef in everyone and picking up a bag of Chef One dumplings means a delicious meal is awaiting your creativity. Whether you eat them dipped in soy sauce, stewed in your favorite broth, or baked into a new creation, preparation is always easy and the flavor never fails.

Timeline of Chef One’s Milestones

2017

Chef One expands its line of fusion egg rolls with a Philly Cheese Steak Egg Roll available to food service customers.

2016

Chef One launches 2 new flavors in addition to its existing retail collection: Kale & Chicken and Kung Pao Chicken Dumpling.

2015

Chef One officially declares Sept. 26 'National Dumpling Day'!

2011

Going green: Chef One implemented use of a cogenerator to capture waste energy and use it to cool and heat the facility

2008

Chef One expands an additional 25,000 square feet to a total of 130,000 square feet

2007

Official grand opening of TMI's 80,000 square feet facility. Chef One is the first Asian food manufacturer to obtain the ISO 22000:2005 Food Safety Management System approval by NQA

2004

Chef One begins renovation of a new state-of-the-art 80,000 square foot facility at 7 Bushwick Place, Brooklyn, NY

1999

Chef One is founded in a 5,000 square foot facility to produce the Chef One line of dumplings and appetizers

Dumpling Mama is the mother of all dumpling lovers. Her mission is to introduce people to the amazing world of dumplings and the endless ways to enjoy them. As a New Yorker, she knows how hard it is to find time to prepare a great meal every night. She has a simple solution to that problem and has made it her mission to share that knowledge.
